Sharing Session


The last session of peta at the first half of semester has been ended. It was a little bit noisy class because most of us actively share the experiences of Teacher Assistant activities. There were so many stories that I heard and most of them are the important lesson learns for our teaching career later. Generally I got the conclusion that it was not easy to teach many students in a class, moreover the students are Senior High School students who are essentially in their adolescent period. When doing the teaching practice most of us got problem in managing the classroom. Moreover it was my first time teaching a big class that needs extra management class. For a moment, I thought that it was crazy for delivering the lesson to students who don’t have interest and willing to learn mathematics subject. Then I realize that it is the reason why SSE exists. I am studying in SSE is for answer that question, although it needs process to adapt them in doing the essential and effective learning process. We could not force our method to be applied for all class, but we have to consider with students’ needs so that we have to be creative in providing the learning process for students, I think the best method is the appropriate one, in which the method are according to students’ needs. The most important thing for adapting the students is the learning objectives could be reached by doing the activities as well as the methods.
I am really pleasured because SSE provides this school experience program every semester. I could not imagine if we have to get teaching practice in the 7th semester as likely others universities program. Hence, I get these experiences later and will realize the obstacle of teaching profession at the end of my bachelor. I am not sure I’ll still have the big desire to become a teacher as likely my dream. Fortunately, SSE always provide the best program for facilitating my dream for becoming the next generation of teacher. :)

Anyone know for what we as teachers create a lesson plan? It was you all must have been very aware of the benefits of the lesson plan for us as teachers. Well, lesson plan is a grip us as teachers to manage classrooms and classroom learning process takes place, to say the lesson plan is the scenario we are in the classroom. How do I create an effective lesson plan, how to run the process of learning in a lesson plan that we have made, and how to cope with lesson plans that do not correspond to reality in the classroom? Apparently it is so we need to consider as a teacher let alone as a future teacher candidates.hehehhe

Reflecting When School experience for 2 weeks in the school Nurul Fikri, the questions that had emerged and were missed during my teaching. Lesson plan really helped me in doing the activities in the classroom, what material should I say, what activities would I do in the classroom, how do I communicate, to how I assess the students had been structured in lessonplan. I tried to compile tries an interesting lesson plan for a fun learning in the classroom so that students do not feel bored while studying in class. However, sometimes the lesson plan that has been made is not fully implemented according to our wishes. That's when I do things outside of lesson plans to continue learning for the future so I have to prepare lesson plans for use as a backup first lesson plan is not running optimally.

In addition to thinking about how to design an effective lesson plan, knowing the character of each student is very important to help us use what methods are suitable for use in the classroom so that the expectation of effective classroom climate can be achieved. Teaching experience and make a lesson plan is very useful and I feel the benefits now.But the fact that there are that many more teachers who do not use the lesson plan on the grounds of learning has been running fine without lesson plans, but with the lesson plan is to maximize the learning process so that we as teachers can improve and evaluate whether it has been effective learning we have used in the classroom.
So, whether you will create a lesson plan to teach? All depends on you, want to be like what class you create.

Important of Lesson Plan

The  program of school experience is teaching assistant have added experiences list. There are so many things that we can get the positive learning during two weeks. One of them is learning to know the important of lesson plan. Reaching the good learning process in class is a hope from the teacher, but to get it can’t get instant. There is a process to make it come true. The process is a preparation. Teacher has to prepare before he/she teach. The preparation can show in lesson plan, which it is a helping media to make easy the work of teacher. Lesson plan is a guide for teacher to make a effective classroom. Lesson plan contain about what the things that will teach in the class, such as the materials, the opening and close process learning, and the activities that will do.
Moreover, lesson plan is an important to use. It means when teacher have lesson plan, he/she know what will he teach, and he can discipline in the time. Lesson plan also make a teacher to become a person regularly, and then from it teacher also can make  evaluation as a reflection for him/his. So, the next teaching can be better. Instead of that, lesson plan is useful for the person that forget, because with there is a lesson plan, he/she can remember what will he teach and did he teach. So. He can know what’s the shortage from the learning process, and then he can do better on the next time.  
Instead of that, the lesson plan can make a teacher to become creative teacher. Because, I think to become a creative is needed the time and the mind. Moreover to make a creative learning process is needed the think and the mind, so we need the lesson plan.
As a candidate of teacher, we are not only know the important of lesson plan, but also we have to know how make a effective classroom. Based on process learning in PETA last several days, I learn that not easy to make a effective classroom with the different student’s characteristic. We have to know what is needed by students, the student’s characteristic, and the teaching time. For example based on my experience in teaching assistant last week. My friend and me have difficult to teach them in the afternoon. There are several students that can’t handled by us. In the reflection in past teach, there was said that he/she was not concern and don’t attention what we teach. The reason was slept in the afternoon. Moreover, as a candidate teacher we have to thinking the way to handle it, in order to the effective classroom can come true. Instead of that, we also have to learn and learn to make a effective classroom with the different of student’s characteristic, in order to all of students can understand about the materials and comfortable in our classroom.

Reflection of seventh week

        Last meeting was sharing session for us after doing school experience for two weeks. It was so interesting session. By this sharing session, I get so many lesson not only from my experience but also from my friends' experience. We share each other about our school experience and also find together the solution for the problem that we got in school experience. There are so many problem that we have to face as a teacher. From this school experience, I know that to be a teacher is so challenging. Even difficult to be an inspiring teacher. But difficult doesn't mean impossible. We only need more practice to be expert in facing all of struggle that happen in the class. So grateful to be SSE Student, where I can go to school in each semester and find the reality of education in Indonesia recently. It will make me familiar ready to be teacher that really Indonesia need with all of problem that it has.

        In last discussion, lesson plan, again and again, become hot issue to be discussed.  Lesson plan was impressed useless to be implemented in the class because the condition of class is out of our imagination. Don't think that lesson plan is useless. However it is important to make a lesson plan before teaching. Well preparation will make the learning process better. We only need to make a lesson plan more flexible with the fact of condition it self. Of course the flexibility needs our creativity in teaching and solve the problem that out of planning. And the most of important is, we have to know well about the characteristic of students. In order to make a lesson plan implemented well, it must appropriate to learning style of students.

Seventh PETA’s Journal Reflection


On the last meeting, I was very interest participating in PETA class. At the beginning, we shared about our experiences at school experiences program. It was very nice because we knew the different experiences from each other. We knew that each school had different students’ background, vision, mission, and regulation. After that we discussed about the implementation our lesson plan when school experience. Many discussions we did, Mrs. Lidya always made us thought how to answer her questions. I thought that the best session was when we discussed about the useful of using lesson plan. We compared the teacher who used lesson plan with the teacher who did not use lesson plan in different situations. From these discussions we knew the kind of lesson plan, the useful of lesson plan, how to make effective activities in lesson plan, and many other. These lesson helped us to improved our skill in teaching and hoped we’ll be great teacher.

Loosing done, apparently the course of PETA had on the seven meeting. Really, I had gotten many knowledge about how to make a learning in the classroom become effective. And now I become know which of a lesson plan is one of to make a learning in the classroom become effective. In the past time, when I still become a student, I don’t know about “ Does my teacher use a method effective teaching or not?, and I don’t know about it. Because in the last time conditions, I only follow activity groove my teacher. And now I become know, which apparently of a activity in the classroom that, a teacher must to make a lesson plan to help they when do teaching in the classroom.
A lesson plan is exactly to using effective teaching and prevent a learning of aimless. And of it, I realize that responsibility of a teacher is very great quantities and high. Which too, in the lesson plan I must to know about topic will learned, step by step procedures when teach, using exactly method to make condition in the class become attractive to students, and then must to think about how to assess the students, make topic to connect in the real life, make evaluation, and ect. It’s so clear that a responsibility of a teacher is very high and big. And I must to prepare all it, which I is the next generation of a teacher.
So, I hope to my future, when I had become a teacher, I want to can teaching with effective and the meaning topic can understood to my students. And of course, to bring into reality I must do the best, to create all it.

shariiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinggggggggggggggg :)

In last meeting, i am very happy. because we are sharing each other about our experiences in school.  I relize that being a good teacher it was not easy and after we are sharing, I became aware that many ways to be good teachers. One of them by making learning fun and meaningful. as a teacher did in fact have to make a lesson plan to help us in teaching in the classroom. We're not just sharing about effective teachers, but also discusses the master teacher commented on how we teach. This is very meaningful for me to be a further reflection materials to be even better. and I hope in next semester, i can teach better than now. And I can be inspiring teacher for my students.

My reflection on 7th meeting of PETA

Hemm,… For this meeting of PETA, I felt very effective because we have chance to sharing about our teaching assistant. I didn’t knew why for this meeting was very enjoy whether because of mister Budi was there in our class or because of in this session we have told about teaching assistant.  
Hearing of sharing about teaching assistant, almost we have told about lesson plan method of learning. Actually, what are lesson study / plan? According Miss Nendean said that, lesson study is plan, do and reflection. Components of an instructional/ lesson plan includes: objective, subject mater, materials, procedures or lesson plan development, evaluation, and assignment.
We also have tens steps involved in developing a lesson plan as well as adescription of what each component should be: Consider what you want teach, develop clear and specific objectives what you want to teach, find what material you are going to use later, write an anticipatory set, write the step-by-step procedures that action the teacher needs to perform, provide time for independent practice and solving problems, should have some sort of closure for the lesson pla, make your assesment, adaptions should be made for students with learning, connections section.
Essence, I think there is no one best strategies or lesson plan to use in teaching. The best is that what which brings about maximum or optium learning. We also consider to choice of method or strategy. The factors that we want consider when we choice the method are: instructional objectives, nature of subject matter, characteristics of learners, teachers, and school policies, ison, and mission.

My Memorize and Reflection

In week 7 (October 1st, 2011), that meeting was amazing because we can shared about our experiences when we taught in school experience. So many experiences can i get in that program, such as prepare our lesson plan, make interest activity and the most important is make "fun learning and meaningful". Why? because when we just teach with fun but we cannot transfer our knowledge to students, it does not work. We focus on learning outcomes. How students can understand and apply that concept in daily life. It will be my obstacle when i teach.

My Reflection in PETA course....

Okey, guys.
From the sharing session i can learn in making model of teaching to the other friend which has different school...
Talking about the best teacher and teaching we have felt it when we as teacher assistant in the school experience before. No body is perfect but we have to learn more and change our habit which is we reflect what we did in the class. I know so many advices that we get because everyone has his single best story about teaching experience, right?
Ok, base on the experience come from sharing session in the class, i can know that the model of teaching have influence make their understand easily about what we teach. Before we use about the model, it will be better to observe the children characteristic cause every class has their style. The student are interested in their comfort condition. For example, the students has dominant intelligent in the right brain so our reaction as a teacher we have to care about it. We can give the activity that relate in using creativity. Especially in mathematic, we can use their skill to help their understanding in mathematic in the left brain. Mathematic is not only about the serious situation but we can show with the interest way. After discussion about it in the other group when the sharing session. We get the conclusion that we not only have to concern in fun learning but also has meaningful about the session. They can learn something when we teach in the class.
Not only the background of the student that we can use for  guiding in our lesson plan but we look in the other session such as gender, experience, religion, need, prior knowledge, culture, etc. The otherwise, our personality are the one side that more important for give their more be motivate in our lesson. “Greget” and initiative are needed in encourage their spirit.
Lesson plan is useful to guide the teacher activity and planning their do but it can change depend on the class and time of the activity. We can use lesson plan to reflect our activity. For the next year, we can read and evaluate to make it be better.

Lesson Plan Yearly


Today’s PETA critics about teacher perception of lesson plan. It is interested topic because there are many different perception based on my friends experienced when assistance their master teacher. Based on my experience itself the teacher s have prepare the lesson plan at the beginning of the year and didn’t revised again the lesson plan, so they do not prepared the lesson plan anymore. Here I look they when teaching, they use their own character and skills for managing the class. They use the lesson plan but without reflection or revised. I appreciate to the teachers, because they can manage the class and lesson very well, and the students was cooperated at the teaching learning process. But in another side, the teacher way of teaching is ineffective because they make their children undeveloped. Why I can say like this? When the teacher prepared the lesson plan at the beginning of the year and without the reflection and revised, it means they didn’t know the situation of the new students. They design the lesson plan based on the children condition before.
Ideally, preparing lesson plan is like a circular process in lesson study. First of all we have to prepare the scenario of lesson, then implementation the lesson plan, after that get the reflection that revised the lesson plan and then prepare again. It is a teacher’s responsible for preparing the lesson plan. So if the teacher didn’t revise moreover didn’t use the lesson plan, the teaching learning process will not develop as the students need. Actually in preparing the lesson plan, we can prepare daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. I think it is no problem when we prepared the lesson plan yearly, because we have known the material use at the whole year. But it must revised every time agree with students character. And remembering that we will teach at the different class but same materials, we have to revise the lesson plan quickly for developing our teaching.
