E-reflection School Experience

Hemmm, teaching assistance? What is it?
I think the teaching assistant is a program where we only assist our master teachers in teaching but the fact we have to teach himself without the aid of  the master teacher.
I am very pleased with this program because with this program can made me gallant and confident when i become a teacher later because previously i still doubt whather i can or not to be a teacher later. My master teacher in this teaching assistant told us we should be grateful because weare stiil on 3th semester but we have jumped to school to make teaching practice in the class and is not like me used teaching practice inschool could on7th semester.O,ya in my teaching assistant in this time i have in senior high school 12 Jakarta. The location is west Jakarta it’s mean that the location is far from my boarding house so during this program i must reville every morning because this school entrance at 6.30 pm. Incidentally there was one day i was came late to school because i was waking up late but i still can entrance this school. Talk about this school i think this school is very good because i have seen both in terms of infrastructure are very complete like this school have comfortable library, all the classroom have projector is very useful for teaching and learning in class and also this school have radio frequncy itself which publiser is their students itself and also the teacher in this school are very skilled.
When i did observation to my master teacher in calss, i saw she was very good to handle her classroom and i think she also have good skill understand the material but one thing that i want comment to her that is the her students in this class is not active because there was no instruction who make students active in class such as group work, etc. The master teacher taught about quadratic equation using direct instruction without group discussion. Wheres some students want study using group discussion because when i taught, i saw students like studying actively. When i become  teacher i hope i can make effective teaching. But overall the learning process is already good.  
Ohh ya.. the first week in my teaching assistant, we also already have started to teaching in class.Whereas as we know according the scheduled we can started to teaching in second week. Nevertheless everything gone be ok because from the evidance impression written by students in class mostly said their fun and more easily to understand the materialbecausse students are actively involved. But we also realize our teaching process we did still have shortages so every day we also learnt to be a good teacher.




New Experiences in 12


First week in Senior High School 12, that was so amazing. I got new experiences about that school, their behavior, and also in school management. In the morning, they (students) always make a line in the front of class before they join the class and then they read Al-Qur'an (Tadarus Al-Qur'an). That's the one of behavior has lost in our tradition in senior high school.

After that, I got new information about teachers' lesson plan; they called "RPP Berkarakter Bangsa". I was confused about it because I never heard about that lesson plan. I learnt that lesson plan before I make lesson plan for we (Eli and I) teach in the class. Based on that lesson plan, I can take a conclusion, in teaching and learning process, we as teacher must give behavior assessment and give a lesson about behavior in their students self. It's so different when I school. That was just taught in subject PKn (Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan). We just knew in theory but in implementation, it doesn't work.

Finally, El and I implementation our lesson plan in the class. Well, we prepared our lesson plan based on RPP Berkarakter Bangsa. It difficult because we not only taught students in effective learning but also we must taught several behaviors, like trust with their friend, respect, etc. When I observed class, I found students felt bored because they just listen their teacher about the material and students never show up their knowledge in front of class (Direct Instruction). Then, I implement in our lesson plan about group work. When we use this method, student felt so anthusias. They can learnt with their friends and discuss it. In reflection time, they wrote enjoy when they work in group. Based on that, I learn and take a conclusion we as teacher is the person who will make new generation for this country and nation based on Pancasila rules.

Septy Cartika Sari _ Reflection in the first week of school experience

In this week, I start became teaching assistant in the senior high school 82 Jakarta. In the first day we introduce our name and our campus, after that we search our master teacher but he was busy one so in that day we don’t meet our master teacher. When we talk with Bu Aisyah, she says that “we as a teacher should not be lost to our students”. When we angry with him, we must be melted in front of him so he was reluctant to us.
In the second day we not yet observation, I just stay in the 82’s library, because my master teacher has not invited us into his classroom. Whereas we have been actively look him to the teacher room. So we joint in Bu asiyah’s class, we help Vika’s group to guide the students do exercise because bu asiyah did not came in the classroom because she followed the seminar. We look most of the students in the ten grade is lazy students, so we guide do exercise from Bu Aisyah.  When I am in Senior high School I am like do all assessment from teacher, moreover there is guide because I can study more from him. After that we meet teacher in twelve grades because we want to observation in his class. His name is Pak Antonius. Alhamdulillah, he gave us permission to follow his class for tomorrow. My lesson on the second day that “Do not be stingy to share knowledge to others”
In the third day, we were observation in Pak Antonius’s class. Situation in his class was very lively because he is firm teacher so all of students to give attention to him. Students call one by one to do exercise in the white board, so automatic students must study before start lesson. I think he can make students smart with the method and all of students can pass with good score. There is something special because our master teacher invites discussion about syllabus and told us to teach the next day. But he asks for help to correct the result of mid test. After that we ask to teach in class XII IPA 1 about Segitiga pascal. When we teach, some of them not respect to us but we can understand the material quickly. My lesson on the third day that “Patience definitely paid off”
In the fourth day, we were told to teach but we are not ready because we have not observed in his class. So we are observation in class XII IPA 2. We look he is very conceptual , he explain origin from the sudut istemewa but the students not respect, there is eat in class, chatting and play hand phone. When I observation I found the same problem but there is no way out its. But when I teach, I want to use yel- yel, its make students respect and attention to material. My lesson on the fourth day that “became a teacher so is difficult” We must prepare lesson plan, power point, study again and many other things.
In last day of the first week. I teach in class XI IPA 3, I like this class because the students is very respect and smart students, they can understand material quickly. They can make presentation with some topic. But there is something make me annoyed because my partner did not came because he was sick. But all of the ingredients I teach exist at him, he inform to me when I want to go SMA 82. So I directly make power point and prepare everything. I lucky one because I have friends is very kind. They help me to prepare everything and teach in class XI IPA 3. If I say I not ready to teach, I was afraid he was disappointed and did not believe anymore. My lesson on the fifth day that “god will not give us trials beyond capacity”

My reflection in the school SMAIT Nurul Fikri

At school SMAIT Nurul Fikri uses moving class system, whereby students who move to occupy the corresponding class lesson. Contrary to what I get at school, where I only use one classroom, but here they are always on the move in accordance with the subject that they get. When I first saw the situation like that, it looks very difficult to manage students who are seen anywhere before or after class lesson. But they feel uncomfortable when asked about it, they say that it is something new and exciting so they still feel comfortable with moving class system. so i feel like to examine whether moving class system is effectively used in the learning process.


The situation in the classroom in SMAIT Nurul Fikri looks free, they sit wherever they like, ask anything when they do not understand a lesson, they are very visible cooperative, although they only discuss the exam questions. This has not I get in my school first. At my school, teachers do not ever give students the opportunity to ask his opinion or issue. Teachers always explain in front of the class regardless of student understanding.


As a prospective teacher, the class system and the atmosphere is very important to build students' understanding and active students. And my biggest task was figuring out what method would I use in class to get active in the classroom learning activities. Looking at the experience of this school, it's the method I learned that learning should not just only a few students (current student) who only received instruction but all students can feel and understand the lessons.

E-Refleftion School Experience

Hello guys, how is your school experience? It is so exciting, isn't it? So am I. I have a lot of story to share with all of you. Okay, let me introduce the school that i have visited for one week. SMAIT Nurul Fikri. It lies at Depok, West Java. From the name of school, we can see that, it is islamic school. Absolutely right, in every morning before starting the lesson there is obligatory ritual, reading quran and pray dluha. I think it is very good to be applied in school, surely accordance with their belief. As we know, school not only place for learning subjects but also for creating good characteristic of students, religious activity is also important to do at school as a foundation to create students' character.

There is something different in SMAIT Nurul Fikri. Start from this year, school apply moving class system. Actually, I often heard about that system included the advantage that we can get by applying it such us  the students will get new class and new atmosphere for each subject to motivate them to study and avoid them become bored, and many the other advantages. But until now, I never see directly about application of moving class.

Now I have a chance for observe directly about the effectiveness of moving class. And according to me, sorry to say that its system doesn't work well. Maybe it depends on school agreement about moving class it self. In SMAIT Nurul Fikri, they don't give time for students to move. The end of one class is one time with another class to start. Actually it can be solve if each class ended early to give time for students to move. Unfortunately each class ended when the bell rang. It means, there is no time for students to move. Moreover, students often abuse time for moving to go to canteen or the other forbidden activities. And I think, actually it is not wise if each class has to end earlier because, based on my experience, it will be difficult to arrange effective lesson plan in short time. There is a worry that the content of material subject can not be delivered well in limited time especially for mathematics subject. So, according to me, it will be more wise if we certain time for students to move. And school also need to be more strict in disciplining student when they move from one class to another class.

Okay guys, that is my reflection for school experience first week.

E-Reflection week 5 Principle of effective teaching and assessment

What did you feel when you teach in front of class for the first time? Do you feel nervous, shy or sometimes couldn’t think normally for a while??

Yes, that were my feeling that had happened to me when I was doing team teaching for the first time with my friend this afternoon at grade x SMA 12 Jakarta. There were 38 students with different background in the room. No air conditioner and I felt uncomfortable with the situation. Can you imagine that, I had to wear the coat alma mater that was too hot during the teaching and learning process took place? Fiuuh,,. But fortunately, the feeling lost as time goes by. I realized that I was a teacher at the moment and I had to behave like a teacher. I remember with the words of my friend that if you want to be a teacher, once prepare yourself before facing them. Then, you should remember that you are the main director in your class. You are the one who has a right to choose to success the teaching process or not, to help them to reach their goals or just let them stuck in their place stand. Then, I back to my spirit, tried to enjoy with condition and do my best for teaching process. 

Initially, some students seemed uninterested with the activity that my friend and I have made, they are too talkative or even worse a blow up occurred and nothing got accomplished. I almost gave up at the time. But, my friend didn’t stop to give her support to me. My friend suggested me to calm down and assured me that the next activity that have made by us will be fun and would make them enjoy and active with our class. Then, I tried to change the situation by asking all students to watch our video that we have prepared before teaching process. It was about the quadratic equation; they were really excited and seemed pay full attention on the video. After that, my friend and I continued our activity by making group discussion. It was important because we would have a game called by “Kartu Jenius”. Do you know what “kartu jenius” is? It is such a card that they have two parts. One part is for the question and the other one is for the answer. Each group should match between the question and the correct answer. So that everybody needs to discuss with their group to solve the problem in a short time. Each team seemed to compete to win the game. I saw that they were very enthusiastic and I was satisfied with the condition. 

When I was in senior high school, my mathematics teacher often used it in class. This game was so fun and it was inspiring me to use this game in my class. I think this game is good for students to improve students’ understanding. It is also can enhance students‘motivation to active in class. Finally, the bell was ring and it was time for us to end the lesson. I was happy and have a good impression for this experience. It was my valuable experience. You know that this experience is really difference with the micro teaching that we have ever done in class. 

This experience is very challenging and gives me a lesson that changed me as a teacher. Students are people who have feelings and who don't want to feel cornered. They want to learn but they also want to feel as if they have some control over themselves. It is our tasks as teachers to find not only what motivates each student to learn but also what motivates them to misbehave. If we can meet them at that point and take away that motivation, we can go a long way towards a more effective classroom and learning experience.

E-Reflection : School Experience

The first week
                The first day of school experience is to become an assistant teacher, in class we just observe and see the condition of the class. And the second day we immediately fill the class by discussing the  exercise because the master teacher is not teach that day. and I feel happy because of the enthusiastic and spirit of students are so great. and finished discussing the assignment and we go to the school library and the many students who come to us, telling us about their probem in receiving lessons math, especially because they are groundless if the math teacher is the type of person teaches just provides materials and complete its work as a teacher regardless of whether students understand or not. and this is evident from the decline in test scores of students, from 39 students only one student who scored evident five while 38 people only get a value below 4.00. I rate the teacher had failed, because the learning goals not achieved. and many students admitted if their failure is a factor the how to teach a teacher, because the material presented is only a little while a assignment a so complete. And that makes pupils more do not understand about the learning materials is that they always a scolded if ask , the teacher forcing them to use logic to answer difficult questions. The students is banned to ask too much. And I think  the attitude of the teacher is wrong, should have as a teacher he must be willing to answer questions students well because it is tugasnya.saya felt when I became an assistant teacher, I get a lot of lessons to make a reflection for me as a prospective teacher, to be for the better.

Second Reflection for 4th meeting

I am sorry for being late. Actually I have posted my reflection since Thursday ago. I don't know whats going on with this blog recently, my posting was gone. And unfortunately, i have known just now about it. So I late to make the make up of my reflection, but it is out of my control. it will be precious experience for me. Next, I will check and make sure that, my reflection has been posted well.

Our agenda on last meeting was Micro Teaching. All groups presented their lesson plan one by one. This activity is so fun and effective for us as a practice before do teaching assistant in school experience later. Besides watching some funny activities (because we have to act as if we were primary students), we also can learn each other about models of instruction that effective to be applied.

Everything run well actually, unfortunately the two latest group can not presented their lesson plan as well because the time class almost end. I think, maybe it happened because the early group can not manage time well, so they only left very little time for latest group. It is lesson for us in doing presentation, hopefully next time we can manage time well in doing presentation accordance to the rule.

Another problem that i saw was, when the class after end, audience have been bored and less respect. I just want to say that we have to fair for all groups. We have to be more cooperative in helping each other. Please give your attention fully even you have been bored when the class almost end. Think as if you were that last group, how pity.. :'(

Oke, the next meeting in PETA Course before we have do our school observation as Teacher’s Assistant so we haveto do our Role Play first…This is my reflection in our Role play guys..
The Activities which are presentations, watch the movie and discussions. It’s give reflection after the session for more sensitive to our students because each student has their way to get the attention from the teacher. They have many Characteristic which was talking and discussing together will help them to know each other in group so every class is depend on teacher instruction.
Especially in elementary school we have to teach with using any various methods in easy instruction because they only have several minutes to focus and feel comfortable. And then when we talked more in one session so it will make them boring.
I have experience before to teach a student in private course that i have to teach her, but my mood did not good as long as learning process. So, our mood has main important thing to make condition and situation teaching and learning process. I think as a teacher this is our real risk if we have a problem but we can not express our feeling in front of them. Just keep and also smile. In the first time is so difficult but when we usual to do it. So, it will be easy and also make us to be happy and thankful person…because we always spread our positive feeling to our students and also as inspiration for them…

“We will good in speaking with speaking and we will good in teaching with teaching….”
From the previous meeting in the PETA Class, we do micro teaching in our each group. I learn that the goals from the activities are to teach us and to make us be familiar with teaching process in the class. From literature and from my lecturer I know and understand that if we want to good and master in one subject we should try in the subject, make some faults and errors, so we can learn from the errors and make it better in the next process. At the end, we can make it be better and perfect.
So, from the activities in the PETA class, I can reflect it with my previous experience when I teach my students in private, I know that I can’t only learn and read the theories in education teaching, but I must practice it with micro teaching and others activities to make me be familiar and press me to know more about teaching process.
