My reflection

At the last meeting we have been discussed about influence of the way to give feedback. As we know before, we as a teacher can influence student’s motivation through assessment. In the 9^th meeting I have been known the effective ways to influencing student’s motivation through feedback. I must give a feedback in the end of every assessment process, or direct feedback. We also can do evaluation or giving feedback for all of assessment in the end of the semester or year, we can say that as a rapport. But, we must know the effective ways to response the questioning from our students. Because from our response, can decide either to increase or decrease our student’s motivation. 

Reflection about summative and formative assessment

             Sorry, I’m late to post it. I just can remember that the differences between summative and formative assessment is about the time when we want to conduct it and the main or the goals. Summative assessment is conduct at the end of the all process. It’s like UN and selection test when we have registration in SSE. This type of assessment is more to know about the student’s ability to follow the next level or the process in SSE. Whereas, the formative assessment along the learning process. Goal of formative assessment is know the level of students’ understanding. We can use it to evaluate the effectiveness of our teaching. We can choose either we do the same method and instruction or use the new one. I’m very surprise when I know it have different goals. When I was high school student, I didn’t know about the two types of assessment and it goals. And now, I know how important this two types of assessment.   

My Reflection about Assessment

                     What is assessment? Based on group one, assessment is a process to collect, analyze, and interpret the data abaout student's goal achivement. As a teacher, we must know the meaning of assesment. Assessment is ongoing process. it is different with evaluation, and test. From assessment we can measure how far the goal or learning objective was reached.  Evaluation actually in the end of the lesson. And the test as part of measurement. Before we talk about assessment, in my mind, assessment is just a process to know what the score that i have for soe subject. But after the class, all have changes. I know what is the meaning of assessment and how we can make effective assessment. Also we must based on learning goals when we build an assessment. Using the different method is a good idea, and do not forget to build it base on learning objectives...

Reflection week 5

Wow, after mid exam we have great topic, what is it? It is about assessment. I like the opening of our class. We must draw and write what we thinking when we hear the word ‘Assessment’. The next my favorite activities is discussion based on our experience in the high school. Assessment is ongoing activities that to measure student understanding and their prior knowledge. In assessment there is no judgment. Product of assessment is like rapport. How about evaluation? Evaluation is different with assessment. In this part we can make a judgment who is the higher, middle or the lower score? 

Reflection 4

In the first meeting after school experience program, we have reflection based on our master teacher feedback. It is so fun and interesting learning. There are so many things that have differences from master teacher and my perspective. The first important things that I have learn about lesson plan. As a teacher, we must know about aim of our lesson. In my mind, effective teaching is teaching that can reach the goals of a lesson. In the real classroom we also face the different students with different need, interest and learning goals. We can call diversity. It is important for the teacher when develop a lesson plan, how we can covered all of the diversity in the classroom.     

Reflection Teaching Assistant Week 2

In the second week of school experience, I teach that two classes which I have observed last week. Three times teaching at XI IPA and two times teaching at IX IPS. XI IPA 2 consist of 34 students, and XI IS 2 about 36 students. My friend in team teaching is Susi dariah. In the first time teaching at science class without preparation, because the teacher have meeting when we come to the class to observe her teaching and learning process. Susi and me just teaching by direct instruction method or lecturing. We didn’t make any lesson plan. We must teach about inverse function. In another time and class, we prepared well for teaching. As a new teacher, we want to know the students understanding about the concept. So, we use review before we teach the core of material. We using different method for review in each class, like using video, lecturing, or quiz. Actually we also use different instructional methods, but the students looks like use direct instruction. I have tried to use lecturer discussion. When I asked to the students, they didn’t say anything and keep silent in their seat. Another method that we use is group discussion. In here, just some of student in group want to ask we if they didn’t understand or they work for their group. The other students in group just silent and rewrite their friends work. The core of our lesson, we use lecturing method. But we assess them by different methods. The most favorite method for me is you making a problem and solves your friend’s problem. In the end of class, we implement varieties reflection method. Such as drawing their motion, writing their suggestion, and write their message. Another fact that the teacher in that school just teaching from textbook, and he/she never make a lesson plan or reflection in the end of the class. He think that in the first time teaching we need to use lesson plan, but not for him, because he is an old teacher. So, he absolutely knew the step of material or the level to teach.     

                All of them are part of my learning process. Know from real life situation, I think as a teacher candidate, I must improve my skill in teaching and manage the class. Mathematics in the student’s mind is difficult subject. They didn’t know how to use mathematics in the real life. It is challenge for me and the other mathematics teacher candidates. I think when they know the useful mathematics; it can improve their self motivation to learning math.  

Reflection of my school experience at first week

                     I have observed XI Social 2 and XI Sciences 2 at MAN 11, Lebak Bulus. There are different teacher for each class. The classroom facilities are LCD, Projector, and whiteboard. Based on my observation that the teachers lack of skill to use IT and they actually more like to use direct instruction. When I asked about the lesson plan, they just give me a standard competences and basic competence. They said that they want to see our lesson plan. We just have one time in their class to observe. In the sciences class, the students more quiet before the teacher start the lesson, they also enthusiast in teaching and learning process. They very feel free to ask some question that they didn’t understand. But in social class, they like to doing something or talking with their friend and didn’t pay attention to the teacher explanation. I mean it causes the teacher pronunciation is not clearly. The most of the teacher today just teaching the formula without explained the concept because they didn’t have much time. The student are not really understand basic concept of mathematics. In the social class, the instructional method that the teacher used group discussion and the teacher didn’t guide the discussion. It is not effective. When I teaching next week, I want to make a classroom agreement before start the lesson, using technology maximally, and make a combination of instructional method. Finally, I knew that how important of the student’s prior knowledge.

Reflection PETA in the fourth meeting

            After I have class at last Tuesday, I am sure that teaching is not only about explaining knowledge or the content of the material in front of the class. I think that preparation in teaching is very important. The teacher must know about how the student learn and how to make each of them can understand the concept deeply. Actually, I feel so great in SSE, because I am not only learn about the theorist but also the application all of the theorist.  It sounds like more better than my experience in high school, when every teacher just stay in front of the class and explained the concept based on the textbook. I have learned about how to make effective learning process, absolutely by good preparation in develop our lesson plan, input creative activity, and different models of instruction. I believe that we never know if we don't try. And group work make me more understand about the activities and instruction that to input in develop lesson plan for our micro teaching.
