block test

                   Tuesday, 6 December 2011, Today we learn about Formative and Sumative. Wooww.... Awesome materials i think. Because, i can determine where is the formative or sumative assessment now. And now, i want to tell about one of formative assessment, that is Block Test. like i've explain you on the class last meeting, block test is like a daily test. i think, this is good enough for students, because from this test we (as educator) will know the progress from students one by one. And also like the function of formative test (for improve teaching technique), we will improve our teaching strategy, to be better learning process. and the other important things are, don't forget to give back the result of students test to students, in order to make students improve their learning strategy.

Assessment in the context of Instruction

            The assessment of instruction model divide to be two kinds: those are conventional model, and standard based model. The conventional model is the model that assess between teach and move to other instruction. Below is the scheme:

Plan → Teach → Assess → move to other instruction

            On this model, assess process only the bridge from teach process to move to other instruction, without the reflect and feedback about the assessment which teacher given.

            The other of the model is standard based model. Below os the scheme:

                                   Plan → Teach → Assess

                                                            ↑             ↓

                             Reflection, Feedback, and    →   Move to other Instruction

                              Adapt to students needed    →   Provide the feedback

After teaching, teacher will give assessment to students, and from the assessment teacher will reflect and need feedback about the assessment that tetacher given. Then if the assessment not too good, the teacher will improve him assessment.

Jakarta, tuesday 22 november 2011. The first, i want to appologize to mrs. Lydia because i can’t join to your class last tuesday. Because, i was sick. I’m so sorry mom about that. I hear from my friends, last tuesday our class discuss about assessment. I don’t know, what did you discuss with my friends about assessment?? But, for me, assessment is the most important thing in the learning process. Why?? Because i think, if you teach student and you don’t assess them, it’s looks like you cook food, and without you try your food, you give your food to other people while you don’t know about your food taste. You don’t know is it too sweet, or too salt, or other.

                The Assessment Is A Method Of Teacher To Know, How Deep Or The Understanding Of Students About The Materials. By Using The Assessment, Teacher Can Reflect About Their Teaching Method, And Also He/She Will Know The Interest Students about the subject. It is so usefull for teacher, in the teaching and learning proccess.

           

               And also the advantages not only for the teacher. As a students, you will know how deep and your understanding about the materials, and you will more study the materials till you got the better understanding.

our reflection from previous meeting

      Jakarta, Tuesday, 1 november 2011. The first day on this month. I hope on this month i will better than previous month. Because i think, there were some bad things that i did on the previous month. so, before i continous my reflection, i want to apologize to all of member class section B and also to our lecture Mrs. Lydia that there are some attitude or expression which not appropriate in your heart. I'm so sorry all...... :)
   
      Oke, and now i want to tell you about my reflection based previous meeting in PETA class. There were many thing that i learned from that meeting. I shared about our experience with my friend Fransiska Indah. And now, i know that when we be a teacher, there are many situation out of our control, so we have to be creative to anticipate that situation. And also, from class discussion i know the criteria to be an inspiring teacher, to make effective classroom, etc. I remember that, if you want to be an inspiring teacher you have to "sersan" (serius but santai), charismatic, you have to know the characteristic of your students one by one, etc. And to make your class to be effective, you have to make a lesson plan before you come to class, you have to engage your class, etc.

   I think, for now i am too long to be an inspiring teacher, because there are many criteria that i haven't done. i hope, after i learn PETA on this term, i can manage class to be effective classroom, and i hope i will be an inspiring teacher for all of my students. Ammiiiinnnnn.......

my bad experience when micro teaching

           Comes the last week of school Experience. In the last week is a time for me to start micro teaching with my group. After my previous observe classes on the last week in this schools, today is time to begin teaching in their classrooms. This is a new thing for me, because I've never taught before in front of the class, this is my first experience. I hope my first experience of this teaching can provide a good influence for me for the future.           And it was on that day ... Day I first taught it even becomes a very tragic day for me. In the morning I went to school, my motorcycle's chain loose, so I had to fix first Of course this takes a long time. And finally I came late to school. This is making me dizzy and did not know what to do? But fortunately my friend have came into class first, and has started opening. I really feel bad for her, because all the slides that should be used when teaching is in my laptop , so eventually she started learning without the help of slides that we made on the previous day.
           At the time of entry into the classroom, all my thoughts become cluttered and scattered because of the tragedy this morning. But lucky all goes as it should but I still feel, all that I show on that day is very far from my previous expectations. Day of appearance because it's my bad, I became pledged to improve my performance in teaching a second chance.
         In the second teaching opportunity this time, I prepare all more mature than before, although on a second occasion we just miss the first hour of subjects, I'm still excited to be a better fix.          And the day came on which I look forward to it ... mathematics courses paa fell to a four-hour lessons. So, on the morning we were still able to prepare anything about can still be added. And ... (Sound of a bell was sounded, all students back into class each) accidental fall after a four hour break. It will be interesting because it seems this time that I teach is social studies class. When we walked into their classroom, they are very receptive to our arrival. But unfortunately, not a lot that came into our class, because it happened on that day was there * Theresia Cup. and I also do my utmost to repair omission in previous meetings. and I think it worked quite well,because they were quite pleased with our teaching, but unfortunately on the day that I onlyteach 45 minutes, so not too satisfied I teach.

Based my last week experience, i think this was an amazing thing which i did even my life. Hahaha... i learned many thing from the School observation last week, start with observation, then we start to teach them at third day. We (me, Dasrizal, Novi, and Jenny) thought them about trigonometric function. i'm alone from section B. hahaha... The most important thing which i learn from my first teaching is time management. There were so many activities which passed because time wasn’t enough, so that make us explain rashly the materials, but fortunate many student can understand about the materials, so it make us easier to make them understand that. After we explain them about materials we asses them using 2 stay 3 stray, But unfortunately our time is up to continuing the 2 stay 3 stray, so it will be homework for them.

            At the fourth and fifth day, we observ social and tenth class, i see that differences between sciences and social class. i feel the differences atmosfer between that. When i in sciences class, they are so pay attention, and quietly to follow the class. but, when i in social class, they more noisy than sciences, although they also pay attention explaining by teacher. But, when i in social class, they only discuss about assignment that they done before this session. And, there was student who punished by teacher because he came late to class, and the punishment is he have to study alone out of class. before i go into social class, i go into the tenth class first. In the tenth class, i feel the other atmosfer, the class is crowded, and noisy. But, when teacher explain something they are pay attention with the explaination by teacher. They just chatting with the other, when teacher don’t explain in front of the class. When i observ the class, all of class just disscus about their exercise, and teacher just explain the exercise when student ask to teacher.

fourth meeting

                     jakarta, tuesday 11 october 2011, today we practice about our skill to teach. we were micro teahing with our group, my group teach about trapezoid and kite. wow... i think it is so amazing, it will make me more confident when i teach later, especially when i school observation. i learn many thing from the microteaching this tuesday. how to make lesson plan, how to teach, how guide the student, and manymore. And i think it can be our special experience for our micro teaching in school experience next week. i hope my teach in school  experience will more than when i micro last tuesday.  Amiinnn.... hehehe
