“Assessment is not only about the score”
PPRI No 19 In 2005
NSP Pasal 1 ayat 17 show that Assessment is a activity that search, collect, and
processing the information to achieve the aims of learning process. And then the part of assessment are test,
evaluation, measurement, and score.
In school, we look that teacher’s only give assessment in
test or show in score mostly. Usually,
the process of that start with teacher give explain and example, after that
he/she give the exercise, and next give the score of exercise. So, in here can
we look that mostly the teacher that asses students based on score, but can’t
the learning process. if this case continue in school, teacher don’t know about
the student development or students understanding
For example, there is my friend did chit when we were
senior high school. Finally She got the good score. But one day, she asked by
teacher to solve the exercise, but she can’t answer. So we can get conclusion that get the
high score is not mean teacher know about the students understanding. Because of that, teacher has to make a
strategy to make assessment become activity that on going process. in asses,
teacher is not only focus in score, but the process from the first until the
end. So, it can help for teacher to develop and make them more understanding
when teacher know what are needed by students.
Teacher can make
a learning process that creative, asses is not only paper and pencil test, but
it can show by presented, exhibition, focus group discussion, or quiz in run
robin, etc. Instead of that the evaluation
is important to do, because it can help us to do better activity, asses , find
innovation to make way of teaching. So, if teacher can asses students based on
process student development, teacher can help students to motivate or keep
spirit, because the asses is not only about the score.
