Hello guys, back to reflection..
Last week we still study about assessment. Assessment is not as simple as I think before. Assessment is not only giving the test and take the score at the end of learning process. Assessment is on going process that we can measure to know the progress of student comprehension and skill.
It is accordance to explanation from group 4 that present about assessment in the context of instruction. There are two type of assessment. Conventional model and Standard Based Model.
Conventional Model is assessment that only held on the end of learning process. Most of old teacher often use this kind of assessment. This kind of assessment is of course not effective to be applied in teaching and learning process because we can not measure the progress and development of students' comprehension and skill. We only measure whether the goal of learning is reached or not without concern about the process how we facilitate students to reach the goal of learning process itself.
And Standard Based Model is assessment that held on before, during and after the learning process. I think this is the real meaning of assessment. Assessment not only measured the result of learning process. We also have to concern about the process. How we facilitate the students in reaching the goals by instruction method and media that we use in teaching and learning. As a teacher we also can measured about the effectiveness of our instruction, so we can choose the most appropriate instruction for our students based on their characteristic. We also can see the progress of students' comprehension and skill, if there is any student who does not show positive progress, we can do reflection about our instruction and choose what we will do next to solve this problem.
